Our Founding Story
A cancer diagnosis in my early 30s led me to quit refined sugar and explore the healing power of whole food. What I discovered along the way is the spectrum of sweetness found in fruits, florals, nuts, and spices - ingredients that are actually good for you. I decided to build a company that brings together this wider world of flavor and celebrate sweetness in everything we do. Enjoy!
Does your chocolate contain heavy metals?
We test for lead and cadmium. California's maximum allowable dose level (MADL) for lead is 0.5 micrograms per ounce. For this year's harvest, our lead levels tested at .11 micrograms per ounce, 77.6% below the limit. The MADL for cadmium is 4.1 micrograms per ounce. For this year's harvest the levels came in at .54 micrograms per ounce, 87.7% below the limit, which is also considered very low.
Is your chocolate allergen-free or kosher certified?
Our chocolate is naturally free of dairy, gluten, and soy, but is made in a facility that handles those allergens. We are not certified gluten-free, etc. We are also not certified kosher.
How do you ship chocolate in the warm weather?
In warm weather months and to warm weather locations, we ship Monday-Thursday on ice with insulation and express shipping services. We offer optional insurance on orders and will reship all orders that have melted (with photo evidence).
How can I manage my subscription?
If you are on desktop, look for person icon in the top right corner. If you are on mobile, find the subscription tab in the drop down menu. Enter your email address and your subscription portal will be emailed to you.
What is your return and refund/exchange policy?
We offer refunds and reshipments for products that have melted in transit. We do not offer refunds for any other reason. We can not accept returns or exchanges due to food safety concerns.
